Ugrasen was the king of Mathura in Dwaparayuga. His son’s name was Kansa and his daughter’s name was Devaki. Kansa’s sister Devaki was married to Vasudev.

One day Kansa heard a voice from the sky that he would be killed by the eighth son of Devaki. To avoid this, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev in Mathura and also imprisoned his own father and became the king of Mathura himself.

The wife said to Sudama, “You say many times that you have great friendship with Krishna. He is the king of Dwarka. If you should go to meet him, seeing your condition, he will help you without asking.

With great difficulty Sudama agreed to meet with Krishna. Then Sudama told his wife that he is going to meet with his friend, he cannot go empty handed. So Sudama’s wife asked for four handfuls of rice from the neighborhood and brought it tied up to Sudama.

When Sudama reached Dwarka, he was surprised to see the golden city there. Lord Krishna ran barefoot to pick up Sudama. Krishna asked Sudama what the sister-in-law had sent for him. Then Sudama hesitated and started hiding the rice bag. Seeing this, Krishna snatched the rice bag from him. Then Lord Krishna started eating only dry rice.

Shree Krishna killed Shishupala :

Shri Krishna went to the house of his father Vasudev’s sister ie his aunt, then Shri Krishna’s aunt took a promise from him that he would not kill Shishupala.
